A few weeks ago the dining partner and I developed a hankering for "traditional" Chinese food, meaning the Americanized and old-fashioned version with its egg rolls and somewhat heavy sauces, all at reasonable prices. Not a problem, right? Well, if you live in Timonium, it has apparently become one. My usual go to spots are all asian fusion and have all ditched the dependable egg roll for the fancier (and healthier) spring roll, so no dice there (even though their mains are delicious). Of the traditional Chinese places, two showed significant deficiencies in their yelp reviews (cockroaches the size of rats, yeh, no.), leaving Panda King. We both ordered the combination platter (consisting of an entre, pork fried rice, and the delectable egg roll), one of beef with broccoli, the other of kung pao chicken. Both priced at a reasonable $7.65, with a $1 delivery charge, not too bad for a simple dinner on a weeknight. The food came within 45 minutes, a reasonable time frame, and the taste was very good. I only had the kung pao, but it was very good. Well cooked veggies, nice chicken, and a significant amount of spice (despite a distinct lack of dried chilis) that necessitated frequent Rubio-ing. Very pleased and will order again when the fancy strikes.

Best delivery in the area. We haven't had anything we didn't like yet. Orange chicken, general taos chicken, crab Rangoon, dumplings, sweet and sour shrimp are our favorites. Not too greasy or sauce heavy -- feels healthier than normal Chinese take out.

Best traditional Chinese in the Timonium area (in my opinion) since Maru left. Fast delivery, good prices, and good quality. Lots of veggies in the chicken w/vegetables. BBQ pork appetizer was really good too. Will order again for sure.

Good carry out! Had an appointment at Lutherville Medical Center and randomly stopped in for lunch. I was super impressed. Heard the wok popping in the background and my food came out fresh and hot! Szechuan chicken... Delicious! Good portions, good ingredients. What a great surprise!

This restaurant is a little small for dining in, but is pleasant, and exceptionally clean. If I am in this area, and craving some well made, nicely seasoned Chinese food its always choice #1 (since 2001.) I have not had a bad meal here, ever, and the Chinese children doing their homework are adorable.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
